HEY PAINT CREW: Suit up and raise $10,000 for cancer research
Huge game today as the Boilermakers host Bo “Grinchface” Ryan and the suddenly slumping Wisconsin Badgers. The last three games have seen Wisky fall in heart-breaking fashion to Indiana and Michigan, and frankly get outworked against Minnesota. Matty and the good guys seem to always have the upper hand on Bo Ryan’s squads, but I expect a desperate, feisty, and incredibly disciplined team to give Purdue its toughest Big Ten challenge to date. Keep an eye on Sam Dekker (my non-Purdue B1G mancrush), Josh Gasser/Traevon Tackson (two fantastic floor leaders), and particularly Frank Kaminsky (an offensively-gifted, lanky 7-footer with a killer jumper). Purdue’s defensive strategy against Kaminsky should be really interesting, as the Boilers struggle when Hammons gets pulled out of the lane. Offensively, Purdue needs to allow Hammons and Simpson abuse Wisconsin's lack of an elite post defender. Inside-out, Boilers...inside-out.
BUT, much more importantly, this weekend is the American Cancer Society’s Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend. The Big Ten Network is running a promotion with the student sections at Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, and Nebraska to “suit up” for a $10,000 donation to Relay for Life. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, get classy and stay classy with some killer black suit-gold tie combos, check in with their representative at Mackey Arena, and help Relay for Life at Purdue raise TEN GRAND for cancer research. I know it’s a little short notice, but I just found out about it and figured the least we BS’ers could do is try to promote this fantastic cause. I’m sure the Paint Crew is already all over this, but a little extra publicity couldn’t hurt.
TL;DR SUMMARY: WEAR A SUIT TO THE WISCONSIN GAME, CHECK IN, HELP RAISE $10,000 FOR RELAY FOR LIFE AT PURDUE AND CANCER RESEARCH.
OH, AND BRING THE HYPE.
(H/T to @JarrodHuff for bringing this to my attention. Get classy, stay classy my friend.)
