Minnesota Timberwolves' Rob Hummel Speaks with WNDE

Robbie Hummel made the Timberwolves NBA roster for the '13'-'14 season and their first game was last night against E'Twaun Moore's Orlando Magic. I think it's fair to say that Rob Hummel is in the Drew Brees category of favorite sons of Purdue who almost nobody has a bad thing to say about.

This is so true that I actually watched some NBA basketball in October because of Rob and, naturally, the Fox Sports North feed came back from a drunk driving commercial too late to catch Rob's intro in his first NBA game. It appears he was the first one out of the tunnel and introduced and, I don't know about you, but I still love to hear "...from Purdue..." before anybody is introduced.

Rob didn't get any PT last night, but Smooge did and put in ten points in 21 minutes.

Earlier in the day yesterday, Rob appeared on Query & Schultz on WNDE 1260 in Indianapolis.

Some notes from the interview:

--Rob comments in this interview that he still hates the Barn (where his knee horrors began) and that he felt like that year's team was good enough to win it all.

--Query can't help himself but to mention Travis' tearful goodbye to Rob after the Kansas game.

--Hummel more or less admits he's been "JD from Warsaw" on Purdue football postgame shows.

Listen, love laugh.
