Watch Tyler Trent's Appearance On Scott Van Pelt's Sportscenter Here

Sometimes we forget that more people aren’t on Twitter than are (and your life is probably better for it), and that means you sometimes don’t see the buzz that’s happening. Further, if you’re anything like us, you don’t spend a lot of time watching ESPN anymore aside from live sports programming.

However, there’s perhaps one regular show that is worth your time on ESPN and that’s Scott Van Pelt’s late night edition of Sportscenter. Last night, Scott had Tyler on and they talked Purdue, Tyler’s story, life and they made a bet for the Dec 6 Purdue-Maryland basketball game.

Scott’s emotion was genuine as is his approach at all times. He’s one of the good ones, in all ways, and just like with the fantastic job done by Rinaldi, Fowler and Herbstreit on Saturday, we feel it’s important to call ESPN out when they do a great job, too. SVP did that last night; he just gets it. He understood it would make Tyler’s day and it was something he could give Tyler, something he could do for him. So he did it. Much respect.

Tyler is now a national story and we couldn’t be happier for him. We’re also proud that we can say “Hey, we know that guy!” My son sees Tyler popping up on television and says to me, “Dad, there’s Tyler!”

He’s touched more lives than many of us are lucky to and he’s only 20. Fight on, T-squared.
