Nebraska Fouls Up WBB, Knocks Out Boilers 62-61

Purdue's women's team has two significant weaknesses: they do not have a center who is a scoring threat, and they do not have a consistent three-point shooter. Tonight, Nebraska took advantage of both weaknesses, running out to an early lead and never looking back as they held off the Boilers, 62-61, handing Purdue just their second home loss in eleven games.

WBB Alone In First After Holding Off Minnesota, 84-72

When last we left Sharon Versyp's squad, they hadn't lost since December 3 and were preparing for conference play ... fast-forward to tonight and not much has changed. The Boilers still haven't lost since December 3, and thanks partly to some interesting bounces, partly to an unbalanced schedule, and partly to clutch play, they're now alone in first place at 5-0, thanks to Northwestern's upset of Ohio State in Evanston tonight.

The refs were atrocious. Iowa players are still holding AJ. Mike Gesell falls down when his cat bumps him. The refs stole a timeout. Adam Woodbury moves on all his screens. When Morgan Burke stepped on the floor at halftime, you could see the gloom spreading from his footprints like the Grinch stealing joy from Whoville. Someone stole Painter's car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. OK, now that that's out of the way, let's talk about what really cost Purdue this game.
