In case you slept through last season or suffered a head injury that allowed you to block out Purdue football 2013, you're quite aware that they were not good. What's become clear is that now as different sites and writers are analyzing last season and putting together their previews for this season, everyone else is realizing just how historically bad it was. Big Ten Media Days are next week and so the guys at ESPN's Big Ten Blog did a capsule about the three questions facing Purdue as we head towards that event. I assume it was just three questions about Purdue because 50 questions would have been too much for anyone to bear. But it's safe to say that there is almost nothing that is secure about this Boilermaker football team -- that is, an area that we as fans can point to as an unquestioned strength or something we're simply not worried about. Well, I mean, besides that sweet patio area.

If you enjoy getting punched in the stomach about your favorite football team, though, longtime reader Gregg Z points out that the always-thorough Scout preview is now available for Purdue.

The defense was bad, the offense worse, and it wasn’t as if Hazell did anything impressive to inspire confidence that he’s the guy who can make Purdue football relevant in the new Big Ten West. So is this just a big rebuilding job in the hopes of a payoff that came for Kent State in 2012 under Hazell’s watch, or was last year the sign of big, big problems ahead.

Just 39 days to kickoff, everyone! Catch the fever!
