Positives from Purdue's current situation

Like Coach Hope, I'm gonna stay positive!!

-My kids are learning new words while I watch the game.

-Without any expectations of a victory for the rest of the season, I won't be stressed on Saturdays.

-Lots of scholarships available in four years...hardly anybody is redshirting.

-When Hope sells the idea of immediate playing time to recruits, they can see he really means it.

-All questions that Coach Landholm might have been a good hire have been put to rest.

-Hope will be able to avoid anyone comparing him with his predecessor...but the comparisons to Akers, Colletto and Burtnett are becoming easier to make.

-Purdue athletic department won't have to worry about losing money on a small-time bowl...and fans won't have to wrestle with the question of whether or not they should use vacation time to go to a less-than-glamorous locale.

-Without anyone else taking the spotlight, we can fully-appreciate Ryan Kerrigan's talent.

-Hope and Company are politely conceding the floor to the basketball team by making sure no important football will be played during basketball season.

In all seriousness, we said we should all expect to be surprised by Danny Hope-coached teams...What we saw today in Champaign was beyond-surprising. Now, with two top-10 teams left to play in the final four games, and the possibility of not being favored again in '10, Hope will have plenty of opportunities to surprise us.
